xandricthebeater asked: I'm sort of confused as to why everyone is making such a big deal over the move. I mean, I get that it's the office that we've all grown to love for the past years, but it's not like the company is disbanding, or they're cutting RvB, or RWBY, or Achievement Hunter. They're just changing locations.
Can someone else explain? Because all these “Why is everyone so upset?” asks are wearin’ me down.
Not everyone is upset.
The “entire fandom” isn’t in a panic.
There are folks who are giving loving tribute to a building that has housed some terrific Rooster Teeth memories. There are some folks who are taking it to another level with expressing some intense feelings.
And that’s alright. It’s odd…but it’s alright.
Having been watching Rooster Teeth for the last 8 years and being an involved community member for 4 years gives me a much different perspective on what this move entails. The move from Congress Ave was a HUGE deal because the company was growing, Achievement Hunter started to sow it’s seeds, and Monty wouldn’t have to do his mo-cap in the conference room anymore.
But since the move to 636 Ralph Ablanedo, the company grew exponentially. Burnie did NOT see this company and has been lamenting his choice in space ever since. He and Matt have been looking for a new place for Rooster Teeth to call home for the last 2 years. Notice that the size of the studio did NOT stop them from creating content and hiring amazing people…now think about the possibilities of a larger space. Studio 5 is the FIFTH big move for Rooster Teeth Productions. They are moving to the Austin Film Society property. Imagine the creativity that will flourish in this space! a 25X25 are to mo-cap in! Less of a chance for the power to go out! Burnie and Gus will have offices again!
There is no sadness in this move, guys. None whatsoever. Shed a tear or two for nostalgia now, but get ready to celebrate!
This is a good thing <3
